Let’s Do This!

I was selected by the Sprague High School staff to be one of (12) contestants for this year’s Mr. and Ms. Olympian Pageant.  This pageant started in honor of former Sprague student, Jessica Stanford, who passed away due to complications of Leukemia.  This pageant was created to raise money for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital where she received treatment.

In 1995, Jessica Sanford, a junior who attended Sprague High School passed away after a fight against Leukemia.  After Jessica’s passing, her close friends raised money for the children’s hospital to give back for all the wonderful care they provided, and to preserve Jessica’s memory.  With these ideas in mind, Oly Pageant was created.

Participating in an event such as this who’s goal is to raise awareness and funds for Doernbecher’s – a Children’s Hospital is a cause close to my heart.  I have a cousin who was treated at a children’s hospital in another state at the age of 4 for a brain tumor.  Nothing can take away the struggles these children and their families experience but perhaps their burdens can be lightened through our efforts of support.

Thank you for your time and support.  Every little bit counts.

Let’s do this.  Let’s make a difference.
